what yarn is everyone using?

I was planning on using KP Alpaca Cloud because I had some in my stash. I thought I had two skeins, turns out I bought 4. That's enough for the Cap Shawl from VLT. So it looks like I need to go shopping!

I was thinking Alpaca with a Twist Fino. That and Zephyr are the only two solid lace yarns my LYS carries right now, and I think the Zephyr will be too thin. But...........my LYS is getting new yarns in soon, in a week or so.

So what yarns did you pick?

I'm using Zephyr in a lovely shade of pink. The exact name of the color escapes me at the moment.

I've also considered using yarn from Fearless Fibers, Yarntopia Treasures, and Epicurus. All of these sellers can be found at www.etsy.com

I'm planning on putting beads all through the stole. I'll be examining and marking the charts for placement soon. I already ordered a good variety of beads specifically for Hanami. I bought from Emilia Beadelia (E-bay).

I'm using a lovely pale pink pure wool 2 ply from Bendigo Woollen Mills. I think I might use a mixture of pale pink and hot pink beads but I need to think about it a bit more.

I started the Hanami a few weeks ago, then ran across this blog, so I think I'll be joining this. I'm using Handmaiden Sea Silk in Pumpkin and I LOVE it! I'm not a pink type of person, but I was trying to maintain the symbolism of the shawl. Pumpkin works well because it's a kind of rosy color overlaying gold. And knitting with it is divine!

Well right now I am leaning toward KP fingering merino bare. I want to use something a little thicker then lace weight. I am using a cobweb yarn for MS3 and I had to double it so my hands would not complain too much (darn RA). Anyway the merino is really nice and I figure I would either use it for Hanami or Leda's Dream. Ahh the problems that stash and too many want to projects = ).

Even though I picked up some Zephyr in that pale pink "Lady Slipper" color, I'm still really wanting to do this in a somewhat variegated, since I love the various colors of cherry blossom tree. Soooooooo, I've ordered some "Suede" laceweight from MamaE, and I'm hoping it will come SOON!!

:O)

I just ordered the Alpaca Cloud in Peppermint Heather, beads are from the stash.
(I also ordered the chart keeper and the blocking needles from Knitpicks-I hope they are worth the extra expense)

I am slogging my way through clue 4 of MS3 and I'm very excited to start this KAL!

I'm planning on using Yarn Yard http://theyarnyard.co.uk/newsite/content/view/1/13/
laceweight in second hand rose, it was a one off colour not quite a solid, all wound in a ball and ready to cast on when I get my needles

I'm going with a heavier weight (finger I think) from Sisa in light forest green. It's kind of like the Fisher Price starter wool ...

Lisa Souza Lace Weight in Baby Rose for me. With pale pink beads with an ab finish.

I just ordered my yarn yesterday. I decided to go with Cashwool by Lane Borgosesia in pink with crystal beads.

I'm using the Fino in the dusty 'rose petal' colorway. A bit dark for cherry blossoms, but I'm not a pale pink person. I tend to like jewel tones. For the beads I have grey irridescent 8/0 beads that I also used for MS#3. It's remarkable how they look pearly on the pewter Zephyr and pink on the rose Fino! Just a few more days now.
