Thanks for letting me join this KAL! I am really bad at KALs, life gets in the way, the new Interweave Knits comes and I just HAVE to knit something new. Etc.
But I've had some alpaca cloud in my stash for a long time, it's crying to be knit up. I just have to figure out who sells beads locally, if anyone. It's not fair, a couple of towns over ( 5 miles) there's a place that sells beads online, but they don't have a storefront. I saw some beads I like for less than a dollar, but they ship priority only (according to the website). But I'm not going to pay $4.60 for shipping 5 miles!
Oh well, I have to finish up some projects before I can even think of casting on anyway. Looking forward to knitting this one, it's a beauty!

Good luck with the hunt for beads! WHat color will your Hanami be? I'm always interested to heard what other people are doing. I'm currently trying to find the color I thought I had ordered but the online store was out of stock and not likely to get more. They say there's been a run on laceweight because of some Mystery Stole ;)
Hobby Lobby carries the Mill Hill beads recommended for this stole - only $1.37 for the little package of them. That is plenty to use for the cast-on row. Now, if you're planning on using more throughout the stole, you might want to go to Mill Hill's online site to get some.
They are in the needlework section of Hobby Lobby, not the bead section.
chanda, if Hobby Lobby carries them, then I suppose Michaels and AC Moore does as well? We don't have HL here in NJ.
I'll have to check the next time I go to the mall. I guess I should have thought of a craft store, I was thinking they only carried "junk" beads (the kind you give to kids to string), not "nice" ones.
I don't usually shop Michael's because they are way over on the other side of town, but you could probably check there. HL carries them in the needlework section, not the bead section so be sure to check both areas.
Good luck!
