beads in Hanami

I'm having so much fun with the beads in MS3 I was thinking of adding more to Hanami. I was kind of visualizing them centered in the flower and randomly scattered in the final petal/eyelet section.
What do you think?

I like the bead idea - it's going to be very interesting to see what everyone's different hanami will look like - 100 different people and a 100 different Hanamis.

I think that more beads would be lovely but I'm not brave enough to experiment myself. This will be my first attempt at using beads and I don't want it to be any more complicated than it has to be.

I'll look forward to seeing how it works. I'd have a hard time visualizing it on my own so I'd be too timid to venture out like that.

I was thinking of adding them to the ruffle at that end but am not sure.

Having already done several repeats of the basketweave section I think they could be worked into the Hanami easily (just maybe not in the basketweave section.) You cast on with beads and that's all the pattern has. The basketweave section comprises about half the stole, I think, and would probably not lend itself to having beads.

If you wanted to avoid the "beads in the back" problem like Melanie is doing on MS3, then I'd wait until the cherry blossoms get started and begin sprinkling them in and get a little heavier by the end. I might be careful about putting them on the ruffle itself since that might weigh it down, but they would be beautiful right before you start the ruffle. As always, just MHO. :)

I think you could center one in each square in the basketweave section and you'd be okay, then sprinkle them with the petals.

I think I'd do a test swatch and see how doing a double YO would work at the petal where I wanted a bead, then dropping one of the YOs on the way back on the purl row and placing the bead on that stitch came out. It just seems to me that I'd want the bead at the petal, and that it's going to close the YO a bit - maybe I'm totally off base.

I'm not invested enough to try it - anyone?

I'm think I'm going to do the Hanami variation with blossoms on both ends, without the basket weave. It is for my Japanese sister-in-law who lives in DC, so it is a perfect pattern for her. I appreciate all the beading addition suggestions - I want a lot of beads! I'm having so much fun with the few of them that the mystery stole 3 has.
