Week Three

You guessed it! Two more repeats of the Basketweave Pattern. Here's my Hanami.

I'll be glad when we can move on. This Basketweave section is starting to wear on me. I'm really looking forward to the blossoms.

Happy Knitting!

I am absolutely sure that I will never knit an all-basketweave stole. I love the look of the pattern, but if I wasn't involved in a KAL, I don't know if I could finish it. I saw a few comments that this was easier than MS3--I guess that proves that everyone's brain operates a little differently, because I thought MS3 was MUCH easier to follow. Of course, this dreaded basketweave is probably better for my brain--I actually have to think about what I'm doing, rather than working on auto-pilot. I will celebrate when this portion is complete!

I was surprised at how much faster the 2nd half of the shawl (the blossoms) seemed to go than the first part. I could follow the basket weave pattern OK, but 7 repeats was definately enough for me!

Oh I so agree with you...I thought the basketweave section would never end. It's deceptively tricky too. I had to tink a lot more than my norm. To top it off, I had to add an extra repeat of the basketweave chart to compensate for my super skinny yarn (I won't make that mistake again!)
Hang in there, you will get to the cherry blossoms sooner than you think :-)

Looks great! But yeah - I feel ya on the basketweave... I'm only about 3 repeats in and keep reading through everyone's posts to borrow an idea for less repeats of that and more blossoms...
